• Hello all,
I installed wordpress and my site was running for the first 2 days. thrilled. LOL.
Now when I type in the domain name: error message like
“error establishing a database connection” showing up.

    what should I do?

  • You should read the question in that message and make sure you can answer 120% YES to all of them.
If it was working till now and you didn’t do anything that could break it – talk to your host.

web host asked me to delete all files and re-install the wordpress.
I used filezilla. on remote site, selected the main folder and clicked- delete on keyboard. everything gone.

    Now I don’t see public_html folder also.
    1. can i still install wordpress or what should i do
    2. in previous installation .htaccess was not there.
how to make sure i get it this time with installation
    3. Filezilla disconnects with in a minute or less than that by itself. How can make sure it stays logged in until i disconnect it.

    thanks.

If you deleted the public_html folder, you can probably re-create it. Then just follow the instructions for WordPress installation. If there was other information in public_html that you want to keep, you may want to restore from backup (see if your host can help you with this).

See if the following page helps regarding the FileZilla connection issue. Settings may be different in different versions.
