Not able to create Static Homepage and Blog Page

    Thank you for developing this awesome theme!!

    Presently I am struggling to get a static homepage and a paginated blog page for my site.

    I have done everything as per this link:

    But on saving this on the “Reading” page, my homepage turns into a static page but the blog page also redirects to this static page.

    I want the blog page to be like the traditional “homepage” with the latest post on the first page followed by subsequent paginated pages page1/2/3/….

    Is it because I do not have the /blog/ with my permalink.

    I want something like wpbeginner has: https://www.wpbeginner.com/ but I am seeing that all these sites have the /blog/ suffix with their URL, so I was wondering is it because of this I am not able to get it right?

    I’ll be grateful if one of the experts could solve this for me.

    Hi there,

    Blog in permalink is definitely not required.

    You just need to make sure you have at least 2 published pages then you can assign one to the front page and one to the posts page.

    If this doesn’t help, can you link me to the site in question so I can see the issue?

    If your front page isn’t the posts page, it will need to be applied to a page, which will give it that /blog (or whatever) URL.

    It would have to be set as your front page in order to achieve pagination without the /blog part.

    Thanks so much for your replies!! Appreciate it a lot!

    I basically want that when a user clicks on the header (title) of my site, it should redirect him to a static page (which is quite easy to do)

    And when the user clicks on the “blog” link on the navigation bar it should take him to the paginated homepage and its sub-pages /2/3…and so on (the normal type of homepage which we usually see in any site).

    But the problem is that when I create a static page for the homepage, the homepage and its sub-pages totally become inaccessible since they all start redirecting to this static page.

    So creating a separate “blog” page that would redirect to the earlier paginated homepage and its sub-pages becomes just impossible.

    I tried the suggested methods by creating a preferred static page, and a blank “blog page” and then set them up under the “Reading” page. But it resulted in both the “blog” page and the homepage and all its sub-pages redirecting to the static page.

    I am just ordinary blogger and do not have any developers skill, so I may be missing something seriously, not sure what?

    I really wish to have this feature for my website so that I can make it look professional ??

    Hmm, I’m not sure I fully understand. Why are you adding redirects in the first place? Why not just have a standard static front page, and then an empty page set as your posts page?

    I am extremely sorry and embarrassed for all the trouble and for wasting your time.

    Surprisingly now it is working. I am so happy! May be there was something not right with my earlier settings.
