not able to comment!

    Ok, so i’m new so maybe this is something stupid i’m doing but here’s what’s happening. i downloaded and installed the latest version of wordpress. it worked great. i could comment and everything…then, sometime after i deleted the example comment, i could not comment. the little link that says “no comments” first took me to the page where the post is at, and then when i clicked it again, nothing happened. so i’ve reinstalled a couple of times, reset-up my data base it’s it’s still not working. i have double checked my commenting settings too. it usually only seems to happen after i’ve chaged some settings, but i have it set so anyone can comment….so please help me out! thanks in advance!

  • You’ve got your permalinks all messed up. Also you don’t need to add index.php to the end of your blog url and site url in your options.

    ok, i tried to get the “pretty perma-links” to work but i’m kinda lost so i just set them without that. is .htaccess supposed to have anything in it? bc i kinda messed it up i think, but the site is still there. and does anyone know how to do the “pretty perma-links” or know of a good tutorial? btw, the comments are working now, so thanks jeremy!

    yeah, i’ve been there and the part about pretty perma links was greek to me and i didn’t find it very clear. do you know of any tutorials that work you through it step by step?
