not a valid json response while trying to upload photo

    I just installed wp to a new domain and the site came up but when i am now trying to uplaod a photo to a post or page it cannot upload it and says “not a valid json response” . how can i fix this?

    by the way, the site shares a database with another site with different table prefixes, i am not sure if this is related. i dont think so.
