• If you are looking for an actual staging plugin that works as staging should, this is NOT what you want.

This is more or less a glorified backup plugin that checks to see if files already exist before restoring them. What it completely messes up is pushing changes to the database without overwriting things that should DEFINITELY not be overridden, like…your posts. Yes, this plugin will -erase- all new posts made on the production site even though it is super easy to not do this and every other staging software on earth does it no problem.

WORSE, is that the instructions they give you to work around this STILL get it wrong, completely ignoring the fact that featured images don’t get moved with a WP export.

Our team wasted two full days and thousands of dollars in manpower due to this plugin blatantly lying about what it claims to do. Avoid…..or don’t, and deal with the consequences.

Also, the Premium version of this plugin claims a money-back guarantee. The dev does not honor this. Please be aware before purchasing.

    Hello Greg,

René here. I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. As already said, I am going to send you a refund. There is no need for this bad review to make me do that.

Besides that it’s also much appreciated if you reconsider the wordings of your review here. The plugin is not lying in any way and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

It looks like all your past plugin reviews for other plugins are similar like this one and had only one goal, to make the developer of a plugin to do what you expect from a plugin to do. This not very welcome in this community. We are all developers, WordPress users and humans who appreciate a friendly community and working environment and such reviews are counterproductive.

A few words about how the plugin works if you did not understand it from reading the description or our docs:

If you don’t want to push posts any articles and other data from the posts table you can exclude the tables _posts and _postmeta.

But this comes with limitations as we explain in the docs. Importing and exporting data before pushing is the best and most reliable way to handle this due to the WordPress technical limitation and fact that WordPress stores all of its site data in the _posts and _postmeta table.

    > Yes, this plugin will -erase- all new posts made on the production site even though it is super easy to not do this and every other staging software on earth does it no problem

There is no other WordPress staging plugin that can handle it how you want it.
If this is such an easy feature, and you know a tool that can do that for WordPress sites I am delighted if you like to tell me its name.

Keep smiling – life is not that bad:

    Hello,

Your support rep was adamant that I would not get a refund so you may wish to address that since it did happen. I didn’t claim no refund was coming for nothing.

The plugin does not do proper staging. Whatever your limitations are, those are the facts. Other staging software does do this. Please don’t make it about me – my needs are not specific….they are the same needs as any other dev looking for actual staging, where only changes are pushed to the live site.

My issue with your plugin and the reason this review was posted was not just the plugin not doing what a staging plugin should do, but your workarounds were not accurate either, completely missing the fact that Featured images won’t be attached to posts when exported/imported as you instruct. An addtl plugin called Export Media with Selected Content is needed. So…..in summary, if either the plugin worked as expected OR the workaround was accurate and included all steps for a proper push, this review would not be here.

    Hello Greg,

thanks for your feedback. We are checking internally what our instructions are lacking on the featured images and going to update the documentation very soon, then.
