Not a happy camper

  • The loss of being able to select text and make it a header (or something else) is just too much. I can deal with the other stuff that went away and into WP Edit Pro. I do not LIKE it. But I can deal with it. I also think your pricing is too high on pro for one site use. And way to high for multiple. SO I’m using this plugin until I can find something better.

    I think you should have talked to your USERS first about what they thought of your move before you made such a huge change. Fortunately I know HTML and CSS so I can still make decent posts/pages. BUT YOUR change has added to the time it takes for me to make those posts & pages. And THAT is a deal breaker for me.

    I know it doesn’t make anything better. But, I will continue working on WP Edit… regardless of it’s ratings or reviews.

    Josh — thank you for your quick response. I think most of your work will be on the Pro version. I urge you to take a look at adding some capability back to the free version. A LOT of us simply can’t take on a high-cost plugin. It’s not a lack of desire. It’s a lack of $$$$.

    I do understand. I am very frugal with my money as well. Since developing WP Edit is pretty much my full-time job; the price is a reflection of the compensation of the amount of work involved.

    With that being said… I am considering adding a “stable” version of WP Edit to my website. This “stable” version will basically be a public release to test new functionality before it trickles down to WP Edit Free.

    Since I have hardly no time for testing; this will be a mutually beneficial arrangement. My users can help test by coming to the site and picking up the latest stable version; and in return, they will be able to access features “in between” the Pro version and the Free version.

    We shall see how well it is accepted… ??

    I think having the Stable version on your site is a great idea. Another plug-in that I use a lot also does that. I would be interested in testing.

    In this free version, the time/date icon is showing up blank in my pages/posts editor. I am on the latest WordPress and using the latest version of Genesis framework.

    I have added the bug to my trac, and should be fixed in the next release.
