• When I click on a video from within Firefox I get no indication that the video is buffering. It just sits there, it also takes a long time for the video to start. If I click on the same video from within IE it starts playing immediately, my ipad shows the video buffer and starts playing with in a second or two

I tried it as we’ll from a different computer on a different network and I get the same results.

This is an MP4? Firefox uses a Flash video player to play MP4s because it doesn’t support native playback. You’re getting into some obscure video encoding topics, but it sound to me like your video doesn’t have “Fast Start” enabled. How did you compress the video?

Vide was encoded with Handbreak and is mp4. I have qt-faststart selected in settings. I was unaware Firefox still only used flash.

Video works great on anything other then FF.

That’s interesting. I’m not sure why you would get that long loading time then. Can you post a link? One way around this would be providing an OGV or WEBM with the same name. Firefox can play them natively. Firefox doesn’t support H.264 playback because it’s not free.

I just turned on the encoding for both of those formats formats.
