    I recently tested the RankMath plugin on a small site with minimal traffic, and unfortunately, it caused the site to crash due to excessive processes running. I tested both the free plugin and the pro plugin, both failed me.

    The multitude of glowing five-star reviews gave me high hopes, but my experience was far from satisfactory. The setup was cumbersome, and the overall performance was disappointing.

    It’s hard not to question the legitimacy of those five-star ratings. It seems that the plugin prompts users repeatedly to leave reviews, leading many to simply click ‘five stars’ in hopes of satisfying the developers. To a seasoned web developer like myself, this strategy comes across as somewhat desperate. Moreover, the absence of responses to user reviews raises further concerns about the plugin’s credibility.

    For initial troubleshooting of the issue, you can check the PHP values of your site by heading over to your WordPress dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info tab > Server. If they are set too low on your site, please ask your hosting provider to upgrade the values according to the following and see if that works for you:

    If the issue persists, you can install a plugin like Query Monitor on your website and look for queries related to Rank Math. This should help us determine what’s causing the issue.
