Noob Question =x RSS? Integrating? Help =x

  • Hello,

    I’m sorry for this very basic question, but I’ve been reading for hours and am still not quiet sure what I’m doing wrong, and to be honest not exactly sure what direction to head.

    I want to view my wordpress updates on my homepage ( https://www.tomtomgoodiesnow.com) I’ve been testing and playing with it just trying to figure out how to do it. The page right now is an html page, and it seems it needs to be a php page, so i’ve added /testtest.php and got the header of my blog to show just on a blank template, but I don’t want the header to show rather just the posts. The code I used for that was:

    So my question is, am I headed the right direction? Do I need to be trying to use RSS? If so how do I do that?

    I’m sorry I’m sure similar questions have been asked but I couldn’t find anything that answered the question.

  • Could you describe exactly what you’re trying to achieve by all of this? Your newest posts should automatically appear on your home page if you’ve set the front page to display your posts via Admin/Settings/Reading.

    What i want to happen, is have my updates shown on my homepage and have people be able to post there comments about my blog on there as well (www.tomtomgoodiesnow.com)

    Currently under my reading settings i have

    Blog Page Show at most: 10
    Syndicated Feeds show at most: 10
    For each in the feed show: Full tex
    Encoding: UFT-8

    if possible I don’t want that blue header, just my posts.

    You’ve got 2 pages in there. Not just one. About halfway down, there’s the line <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "https://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">? That’s a second page!

    Have a look at the index.php template file in the default theme. That’s the kind of format that you need to follow.
