Problem with site URL

  • I was trying to get my wordpress site (it was in a subdirectory called wordpress) to show up on my root directory. I tried the whole “Settings>General>changing the site URL” option but that didn’t work for me for some reason.

    So the next thing I did (which is probably really stupid in hindsight), was move everything out of the wordpress folder onto the root directory. I realized my attempt obviously didn’t work, and once I moved everything back into my wordpress folder, nothing works now. What do I do?

    Can the gods of WordPress enlighten me please?
