Nonfunctioning excerpts, No unsubscribe link, No apparent support

  • This is a sad, sad excuse for a newsletter plugin. Lots of lofty promises, but woefully short on delivery. Set up a newsletter using links in the editor and you will see the excerpt magically appear – go to the preview and there’s nothing but a title. So you wind up setting up the text excerpt manually…
    Then you check to see that your newsletter is not flagged as SPAM – oh good, the sparse documentation says “Email Subscribers by default adds unsubscribe link in all the email that gets send (sic) for new post notification email. So, you don’t have to add it manually.”
    Except it doesn’t add the link; it’s nowhere to be found in the (untouched) template. And the text supplied for the unsubscribe notice in the documentation – surprise – doesn’t work.
    This by itself is a deal-breaker. Email that does not include a functioning unsubscribe link is by definition SPAM. So this whole plugin is in violation of the CAN SPAM Act.
    And did I mention the Help accessed by the big red CONTACT US link? Also nonexistent. Scan the plugin forum: questions posed, one post per topic, days, weeks and years old. In most cases, no response.

    Can you let me know what excerpt you are referring that too in Newsletter?

    It does add the link. We do not violate CAN SPAM Act.

    Go to your WordPress dashboard -> Email Subscribers -> Settings -> Signup Confirmation -> Unsubscribe Text in Email. This is the place where you edit the unsubscribe link text that gets automatically added in every email.

    I do not see any of your support request in this plugin’s forum. Can you share with me links of your support request posted in this plugin’s forum?
