None of the plugins controls show up

Hi,
I came accross this plugin and it seems it is exactly what I am looking for. Happily, I installed it (from within wordpress plugins page, not via upload) and activated it, but none of the controls as shown in the videos and GIFs show up in the editor. So it seems it is not installed correctly, but apart from uploading and activating it, there is nothing I can do. In the settings, all options are turned on. Looking at the server’s file system, it seems that all files and folders are there.
I even tried a clean new wordpress install with no other plugins at all, 2023 theme with no changes, and I still can’t see the plugin working. I have this feeling that I’m missing something terribly obvious.
I’d be thankful for any suggestions. Kind regards, Norbert.
