I’m working on a site for a client. He has 2 sites. Other one is a ready site that he wants to duplicate to the other site and then make some changes to it.

I tried to do the migration using a plugin but now I’m stuck with a nonce error every time I try to do something important on the target site. So basically every time I try to manage my active plugins etc, i get this: Error: invalid nonce.

I believe the problem is with Jetpack plugin. It was active on the main site (couldn’t find a way to deactivate it) during the migration. Does anyone know how to solve this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey there!

The site you mentioned is hosted on WordPress.com. It’s not possible to deactivate Jetpack on WordPress.com sites.

That being said, though, it’s unlikely that Jetpack is responsible for the “invalid nonce” errors. These errors usually point to a caching issue, often related to caching plugins or caching features provided by your host. Jetpack doesn’t offer any caching features.

In this situation, I’d suggest deactivating all plugins and see if that resolves the issue. Then you can reactivate your plugins one by one to see which is responsible for the problem. Be sure to check your must-use plugins to see if there are any caching plugins installed by your host.

If the site that you’re experiencing the errors on is hosted at WordPress.com as well, WordPress.com is a managed host and they can provide full support to help troubleshoot the issue:

    Hope that helps!

@lavenderhaze Yes, that’s the first thing I’d try if the nonce error wouldn’t prevent that option. Maybe I’ll try to contact WordPress.com since I believe both sites are hosted there. Thanks!

Gotcha. You can try to deactivate plugins via SFTP instead of WP Admin and see if that helps:

    https://wordpress.com/support/sftp/

Otherwise, the folks on the WordPress.com support team have full access to disable plugins on their end, so they can help with that process if needed!

I’ll mark this forum thread as resolved now.
