(non-technical) Looking for theme that allow me to category blogs on front page?

I’m planning a simple blogging site for small # of audience (family and friends) so they can keep up to date with my motorcycle journey, and I would like to set up category on front page so my user can click and start read blog about my travelogue.

Example, Photo and category title like this: USA, Canada, Mexico, Belize, Hondura, etc etc on front page then when user click on it, see plenty of blogs that occurred in each country so they would know more about the country itself and etc. Prefer the blog to start with oldest on top and newest at bottom so it will be easy to track based on Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc.

I hope the theme is free but if the price is reasonable then I’m for it.
