    Hi

I’ve set up a ‘New User Registration – For User’ notification but I’ve noticed it doesn’t send out the email if a non default WordPress role is used. I’m using Justin Tadlock’s Members plugin to set up the roles.

The notification is triggered if I leave it set to the default subscriber but not if I select a custom role when adding a new user.

Should this work went a custom role is selected?

    Thanks

    Hi @leanda,
    Thanks for your message.

That’s odd, I use that plugin extensively and have never had any problems with it and BNFW.
Is the option to assign multiple roles selected? This might cause issues.

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hi Jack

    Thanks for the fast reply.

Yes, the option to be assigned to multiple roles is selected. We are using roles to define types of membership on the site and a member can have more than one type of membership.

I’ll test it to see if that is causing the issue. Any ideas about how to work around if that’s the problem?

Ok, I seem to have solved it by setting the New User Default Role in the WordPress settings to use one of the custom roles instead of Subscriber and now they are firing.

Seem to have another issue though with notifications not overriding the defaults, I’ll start a new topic.

Glad you got it working. Just responded to your other thread too.

    Thanks,
