Non Admin user gets spinny image, admin users works

I have spotted something that might help. while testing it, i got a 404 page. the URL was

https://www.tournamentwaterskiing.org.uk/?page_id=44&ai1ec=action~month|exact_date~1417446843

I noticed that the page the initially loads for the calendar is

https://www.tournamentwaterskiing.org.uk/?page_id=42

if i change the 404 link to ?page=42 the calendar page shows correctly.

Yes that’s the issue, and does this happen only when not logged in?Can you try switching pretty permalinks on in WordPress?

It only happens if you are not an admin use, so logged in as a non admin or not logged in

I will look at the pretty permalink a, not sure what’s needed as I am not an expert on WordPress

just go to the admin settings and choose settings -> permalinks You can have pretty links like https://www.tournamentwaterskiing.org.uk/calendar instead of https://www.tournamentwaterskiing.org.uk/?page_id=42

This is better for you overall and maybe it helps to understand what’ happening. Also, did you check if this is a plugin or theme conflict?

i use one of the standard twenty tweelve theme. i tried deactivating all the other plugins and still had the same results.

i changed the permalink to index.php/pagename and still have the same results.

i think you have more than one page called “calendar”. Can you delete them all and re create a new one?

I Deleted the Calendar page. There was a calendr page in the trash, so i permanantly deleted the trash and crated a page called test.

I saw that there as an update for the plugin so i upated it. Now ii get an error saying

Something went wrong while fetching events.
The request status is: 200
The error thrown was: SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<‘

Hi, that error is caused by the fact than when we try to load the next calendar page we try to make an ajax call. For example we call

https://www.tournamentwaterskiing.org.uk/index.php/test/?ai1ec=action~month|exact_date~1446388896|request_format~html

that call, which normally should return a json object, is returning the whole wordpress website, you can see that in the firebug console https://take.ms/9assf

This looks like a server configuration issue, your server configuration looks strange, why do you need index.php in the url?Normally you can have pretty permalinks without that. Try to tak permalinks off now

I think i might have found the issue. In the Events | Setting, the first box is the name of the page. I had left that as auto create new page. I changed it to test and it now works perfectly.
