    Hi,

    I am using free version of Yoast SEO (Version 17.1) plugin on WP website.
    From last few days noindex meta tag is not working as expected.

    On the wp-admin I have added settings to https://camunda.com/developers/product-videos/ as noindex but this page is showing as
    <meta name=”robots” content=”max-image-preview:large”>

    Could you please give me suggestions how I could make this tag as
    <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, follow”>

    Let me know in case you need any additional information from me.

    Thanks

    Hello Vandnakapoo,

    Thanks for reaching out about your robots meta tag.

    We checked the page and can confirm that the tag shows in a strange way too. The page still appears in Google search results and the sitemap. Can you walk us through how you set the page to noindex?

    We look forward to hearing from you.

    Thank for reply!

    So I created new page went to SEO advanced setting of that page.
    Then set
    Allow search engines to show this Page in search results?
    No
    Should search engines follow links on this Page
    Yes
    and other options are blank.

    I hope it helps to understand, let me know in case you need additional information from me.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    I also noticed one more thing it is not only about nonidex but for all kind of pages are not showing proper tag. For instance if page is indexed then it should show something like

    <meta name=”robots” content=”index, follow, max-image-preview:large, max-snippet:-1, max-video-preview:-1″> but it is just showing
    <meta name=”robots” content=”max-image-preview:large”>

    Please check page https://camunda.com/career/ where indexing is On but it is not showing (index, follow, ) attributes.

    Thanks in advance.

    @vandnakapoo

    Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

    Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

    If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

    Can you inform us of the results?

    Hello @vandnakapoo,

    We assume you meant that you identified the conflicting plugin and that the issue has been resolved.

    Hence, we will proceed to mark the thread as resolved.

    Thanks!
