• I have a question which is probably a bit taboo, but it makes some sense to me. Would it be SEO suicide or SEO genius to add “noindex, follow” meta tags to the header on the front page of my blog? Here’s my reasoning: visitors google “widgets” and your site shows up for the first three results. But the first is a category page, the second is a date archive page, and the third is page two of your index. The “widgets” article was written four months ago, and doesn’t appear on any of those three pages. User leaves out of frustration.

I’ve already got the meta tags on my category and archive pages, as well as any index page past the first one. But before noindexing root, I wanted to ask here. The idea is to saturate the single posts themselves, since that’s the meat of the site. What do you think?
