NOD32 message removal

  • I just setup wordpress, and I want to post some announcements by email. Everything is working smoothly, but when the post is published, there is a few lines saying that the message was checked with NOD32 and appears to be without any viruses.

    Is there any way to remove this message without going into wordpress and editing the post? That would actually defeat the purpose of email posting.

  • Just guessing that message is being put there by your email program or your host’s email program, and if so you might need to query your host about that.

    Exactly MichaelH, if you go into NOD32 advanced setup, under email protection, three are options about appending the NOD32 message to outgoing/ingoing emails.

    I opened the email before I ran wp-mail.php, and it did not contain the NOD32 message. So, it is being put there by wordpress or some other service that wordpress is using for email posting.

    talk to your host, wordpress doesnt do anything like you are describing. furthermore, wordpress doesnt actually send emails, the box you are hosted on does — wordpress just tells the box what to send.

    I receive other mails on the same server. The text is never there. I also checked the message in the inbox of the email setup for posting, the text was not there. So, the text reaches passes through my host and reaches the inbox without the additional text. It is when the email is being retrieved by wordpress that NOD32 is adding the text. To make sure I also talked with my host. They said it is from the client which in this case is wordpress.

    The response form the host:

    This text is being added by the email client that is receiving the email and not our server.
