Customer reported site ‘slow’ on a shared server. We were unable to duplicate until eventually we identified connections to noc4.wordfence.com were timing out. Manually pointing noc4.wordfence.com -> noc1’s IP address ‘solved’ the issue.

Appears noc4 is rejecting connections from this particular IP/site. IP 80.87.130.44

had to uninstall this because of the slowness it brings. just noticed today too. 3 seconds became 9 seconds on a simple blog page. now i’m sad because i liked this plugin.

    Hi @kirrus
We don’t block any IP from accessing noc4 server, did you try to reach out to your hosting provider to check if they are blocking any of our servers IPs ranges? you can also let them try running this command for your on the server and let me know the result:
    curl -D - https://noc4.wordfence.com/

    Thanks.

Ah, found it. Apparently, one of our technicians noticed that there were a suspicious number of concurrent connections to noc4, and blocked it.

We’ll add your IPs to our whitelist.
