    Hello Andy,

I’m a bit of a no0b, but I’m slowly getting the hang of all this. I hope I’m not bothering you with a daft request. When I install your plugin to test my site, it just throws errors galore. Is this normal? I really appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks, Stu.:

This is essentially what is supposed to happen. Any coding errors in the site will surface so you can see and fix them.

In your case it seems many of these errors are related to your theme.

Brill, thanks so much for replying mate, I really appreciate it. Can I ask you quickly does any of this hinder or penalise the site at all if I don’t fix them? Is Google likely to be p*ssed off about it all, or do they not care? It’s just me running it, and it doesn’t make a penny, so I can’t pay for repairs etc unless it really makes a difference in SERPS etc. Thanks again, Stu.

I don’t know the answer to what Google will do. At some point, if these errors aren’t corrected your site may have issues. It seems the errors are related to your theme, derby-g1, and an associated plugin, themedy-visual-designer.

Changing to a different theme and plugin should solve this issue. You should try asking that developer to correct these issues.

It appears that this theme and associated plugins may no longer be supported. If that is the case my recommendation is to find another supported theme.

Thanks so much Andy. I’ll take your advice and start trawling..

Hello mate. I’ve found the updated version of my site – which is really great, as it eliminates all these reported php errors, but all my child theme customisations are gone. I’ve got the old site files backed up, so all good there, but I’ve wasted an entire week trying to find what files I need to edit or replace to make the site look and work the way it did before. Do you know of a manageable way to find the files, or code bits, I need to stick into the updated theme? I’ve asked a few people now and I haven’t found a way, but I can’t go back to the old site as it’ll be a dead duck soon.

I’m really sorry to ask, but I respect your excellence and hope it might be a simple reply for you!?

    Thank you,
    Stu
