• I have downloaded the latest version of WordPress and followed the instructions exactly. When I go to input https://www.whoisandrew-goode.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php as it requests I get the 404 error code saying
The requested URL /blog/wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server.
I have looked in all the files I have uploaded and the file doesn’t seem to be there. So I downloaded it again and still the file isn’t there either. So I downloaded the .tar.gz version as well – still no file by that name present. Is it called something else or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely and do I have a whole new problem i don’t know about. I’ve never done this before which doesn’t help.
All help greatly appreciated before psychosis sets in.
    thanks.

A 404 is returned for https://www.whoisandrew-goode.com/blog/readme.html as well, so it appears that maybe:
    1. You have uploaded the WordPress files to the wrong directory
    or
    2. Permissions on the directory are incorrect

OK, thanks for your reply. You may be completely correct although I am also still waiting for a return ticket from my host that could rectify your answer. Should you be correct I then need to work out how to implement your solutions, ie, which directory should it be in so I can replace it, simple enough. However, permissions on the directory being incorrect is a new language to me I’m afraid that I need to learn asap.
    Any help is always appreciated.

your host should be able to sort it out for you if this is the case.
