In the box labeled “Author Base,” you can set a custom slug even with a custom base, such as “custom-base/author”, which makes author pages show up as, e.g., /custom-base/author/firstname-lastname”. This works.

However, in the boxes labeled “Role Slugs,” if you put a forward slash “/” it gets removed after submitting the form. For example, if you put for “contributor,” the slug “custom-base/contributor”, it gets changed to “custom-basecontributor” after submitting the form. This means that contributor pages are at /custom-basecontributor/firstname-lastname instead of at /custom-base/contributor/firstname-lastname (which is what you want).

Is there is a way to fix it so it’s consistent? So, we have, e.g.,

    /custom-base/author/firstname-lastname
    /custom-base/contributor/firstname-lastname

    etc.?

    Thanks

Good catch! You should be able to set an author base that still applies when using role-based author bases. I’ve got a patch worked up, and I’ll try to release it sooner rather than later.

This was fixed in 1.2.0. Thanks again!
