I just updated your plugin to 3.1 but still no visitors, while my Wordfence plugin shows enough visitors today. So I fear this latest update did not correct the flaw…

    Hello.

Please note that the update only fixes the counting of visitors going forward. It doesn’t fix things retroactively, as it’s the actual counting mechanism that had a bug in it.

If you’re using any kind of caching plugins that removes version numbers from JavaScript URL’s, please disable that as it breaks the cache busting that is needed to ensure your visitors are downloading the latest version of the data collection script.

Hope that helps. If your sure the issue persists after checking the above, let me know please (although I am fairly certain it should just work now).

I’m so sorry, at first I could not find this answer of yours after I’ve got your email.

But at first it was impossible for me to reply here, there came no cursor-sign! I feel so guilty, for I did make a new topic of the same. But I had not seen your email when I did that.

I try to be as polite as possible, for I have so much respect for all plugin-authors and developers!

@dvankooten I’ve hit the F5 button to refresh the page, but still there are no more visitors added. I am not a developer, but a retired illustrator 70 years of age, who followed a WordPress course to make a non-profit story-platform to promote Reading. And next week my site takes part in The Week Of Media Wisdom with a MediaMaster-question. I would like to see how many students will visit my site for that question.

Do you use an adblocker in your browser? Many adblockers also block visitor “tracking” scripts and see Koko as a tracking script (even though koko doesn’t actually track a user, just counts the totals).

I just checked your site and it seems (on the visitor side) that Koko is working normally. Do you see my visit in your Dashboard now?

    Hello @magdigit,

First off, what an awesome looking website. Reminds me of the good old days of the internet!

I just checked your website and it looks like everything is now working as expected. On my first visit, I saw Koko Analytics correctly send a request to the collection endpoint indicating that a new visitor just viewed your site. Then, after reloading the page, it made another successful request to that endpoint but now indicating that this was a returning visitor.

@lapzor Indeed I have adblock on my browsers, and until yesterday I never experienced problems with dear Koko. But yes! today visitors are back as normal! Thank you so much for checking!

@dvankooten Wow, thank you for your good care, today all is normal with my dear Koko! In the meantime there was another update, I hope it will stay okay now.

And thank you for your kind words about my site. Though I am a wee bit uncertain whether it is positive or negative that my site reminds you of the good old days of internet… ??

We asked some adblockers to unblock us as we do not actually track anyone (we only count totals) but we shortly got blocked again (just like all other tracking/analytics scripts). Besides that Koko also respects to “do not track” setting that you can set in your browser, so that could be another reason you don’t see your own visits registered. And finally there is a setting in Koko to exclude pageviews from logged in users/administrators that you might have activated.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!
