• Why do I need an wordpress.com account if don’t have any sites there?!

And even when I created one, it still can’t connected to it either.

No use for this plugin at all. No instructions what to do if it doesn’t connect and what to do about self-hosted sites.

  • Hi @teraviva,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

To clarify, WordPress.com is used to securely establish a connection to Google Merchant Center. Google Listings & Ads uses Google’s content API to sync products, which is currently the most reliable way to sync products and the recommended method by Google.

You don’t need to have a site on WordPress.com, you just need a WordPress.com account.

And even when I created one, it still can’t connected to it either.

Could you tell me more about this and share a screenshot of the issue you’re seeing?

Hello, I press connect button and get “Unable to connect your WordPress.com account. Please try again later.” and no clue to what account and how to check it. In the other tab I logged in the wordpress.com but that has no effect.

The admin user has not the same email as the WordPress user. Could it be the case? Should I create admin user with same email to make it work? Or there is the only way is to set the main administrator email same as WordPress.com user email?

    Hi @teraviva,

Thanks for the additional information. To confirm, did you try reconnecting after the initial error?

If the issue persists, please share your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Download for support” (after you scroll down a bit)”. Once done, please upload it to quickforget.com and share the link here. Please include a screenshot of the error

I confirm you can connect any WordPress.com account. It doesn’t have to be the same as the site’s admin email.
