I am getting the same thing as Brandon, after pasting and re-pasting all my keys, multiple refreshes, etc.

This Twitter account has existed and has Tweets over the past several months.

It’s possible that your hosts are blocking CURL requests, which are used to query the Twitter API. Have you tried alternative Twitter accounts or different sites?

This is too much hard work, for the return!

Been trying to add Twitter feed to a WordPress template for too long.
Not economically viable to bother any longer.

It’s almost that Twitter do not want websites to promote their usage.
But sure the site can do without Twitter, anyway.
If they want to make it so hard to use feeds.
(similar to a shop caging all products in steel and strip searching customers, to stop shop lifters!)
So will give up.

If you’re hosts fully support WordPress then using my plugin should work fine ?? Provided your host hasn’t blocked the outbound requests, which shouldn’t be the case if they fully support it ??

Yes, Twitter don’t want users using their new API as much as the old. They’ve applied a lot of rate limiting to cut-down on Twitter-based applications, etc. In short, they want you to do things their way.

All we can do is try our best to work around it. In fairness, the limitations aren’t over zealous, and their authentication methods aren’t too dissimilar to other services such as Instagram ??

We found out from the host they are blocking PHP-Curl requests as part of Plesk. Thank you.

This clients site uses a shared hosting environment, the biggest in Europe. Which works fine with WordPress.

If it blocks something to do with Twitters new feed, then it isn’t going to change it for anybody. So it cannot be overcome.

We will just post information directly on sites and use Twitter less.
As they may just stop promoting themselves completely, in the future, anyway.

If they don’t want sites to show Tweets as easily or actively, as before ??

Which is their choice.

That’s unusual – I use shared hosting from HostGator and CURL isn’t blocked at all ??
