No traffic and data after latest updates

    Hello all,

    After of ~10 March, and version > 1.8.14 of the plugin, tracking of data (traffic, events,conversions) have problems. There are situations where no traffic gets at all, or only traffic and events with no conversion’s data. My setup was Sitekit plugin with this plugin too (to track conversions) and was working well.

    If I remove Sitekit gtag insertion and leave only the plugin GA4 code, no data gets at all. If I have both in the latest version no data tracking, in previous upgrades >1.8.14 until latest was tracking data except conversions. Now I have left only SiteKit integration for GA4 which tracks all data except conversions.

    Any chance we can track again conversions data; The only solution is to downgrade plugin to 1.8.14 ?

    Just to add I’ve had issues too. The last version that’s properly worked for me is: 1.8.14 of the plugin. The lastest version no longer breaks the images on my site (an issue with one a few weeks ago), but I’m no longer gettting Real Time Google Analytics data. I can post my Woo Commerce status if that helps. Thanks.

    It’s strange how we are all getting the same errors but still no updates for the plugin?
    The old working version 1.8.14 has more options for conflict with 3rd party tracking plugins like sitekit.

    When are they going to fix this plugin???

    Updates of the plugin were actually made, but none seems to solve the problem, actually. One the versions from 1.8.4 to 2.0.5 was able to track data with no conversions, but in the latest version does not track anything, either alone or alongside with other plugins inserting GA4 tag like SiteKit

    Any alternatives for you that face the problem in order to track conversions?

    A pity that woocommerce official tracking plugin even don’t work.

    Only version before 2.0 works.

    thanks for the replies, I spent ages trying to figure out the problem before going back to 1.8.14 which solved everything

    also had to revert to 1.8.14 as our traffic in GA plummeted from 10th march. can we please get a long-term fix?

    Since March 2024, users have been required to consent to capture some event data for EEA, UK, and Switzerland regions.

    That’s why, starting from version 2.6.1, we’ve disabled the following events by default for all users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland regions, which might be creating issues for everyone: https://github.com/woocommerce/google-listings-and-ads/blob/ad637eb00b292f1d1798c218d56578f17273bda0/src/Google/GlobalSiteTag.php#L290-L296

    So, I’d suggest everyone add a consent banner and give it another try with the latest version. If this makes no difference, please share your insights here on our GitHub repo so our developer can check and provide further insights.

    Thanks for this update. I had partial data flowing which seemed odd. Your post has solved this. I did have cookie consent on my website but for some reason it wasn’t on. Once I had a cookie plug-in working the full data (it was only US and non-EU and non-UK before) started flowing again. I appreciate your help,
