    Hi, yes, WordPress doesn’t generate thumbnails for non-image files. If this issue is occurring with an image file, please let me know the file type so I can assist further.

    Thanks for the answer. I use JPG. The thumbnails are displayed in the media center. I’ve already tried a few different images, but unfortunately without success.

    The problem is solved. Embarrassing :-)… I had not activated the GD extension on the local test WordPress. So no thumbs were created.

    I tried replicating the issue you mentioned and I was not able to replicate it. Requesting if you can find File type from the Media library.

    Here’s how to find it:

    1. Click on “Media” from the sidebar and click on the image that’s not showing the thumbnail.
    2. A popup will open “Attachment details”. On the right of Attachment details, you’ll see something like “File type: image/jpeg”
