No thumbnails from Vimeo downloading

I have searched and reviewed many posts and gone through the trouble shooting for the Video Thumbnails plugin, but it still does not work for me and I am looking for some guidance.

I have installed the plugin, and have set that the thumbnails be downloaded and saved in my media library. The videos from vimeo are being automatically imported onto a post (via the Automatic Vimeo plugin), so the video is not embedded in the regular text section. I’m trying to figure out whether I need to do something specific on the post page itself so that the thumbnail plugin can capture the video thumbnail from vimeo.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to remedy this? I like this plugin, so I hope that it’ll be a simple fix.
