No thumbnails being generated

  • So here’s what I’ve done. I installed the plugin, created a new page and in the editor clicked on Add Media. In the Upload tab I added a pdf and hit Insert. This only inserted a link to the pdf and there was no image. I tried going to the url manually (mypdf-pdf.jpg) and got a 404 error so I think no thumbnail was generated.

    I’ve tried uploading a few pdfs from different sources and neither works. All of them were just a few kilobytes in size.

    There is nothing in the error logs either. And in my preferences, I’m using Use imagick PHP Extension, the other one Use imageMagick with exec function is disabled. Here is some information which might be helpful to you

    PHP v5.6
    Imagick v6.9
    Wordpress v4.5.3

    Any help with trouble shooting will be greatly appreciated.
