No Themes

  • Hello Kids,

    i have just installed the Latest iteration of WP 1.5.x.x

    you could see it here – https://machinecode.elproducto.net – its pretty boring and will remain so until i can get it to do what i want

    after getting rid of the dashboard (yuk!) my next task is to 86 themes, i much prefer to make my own interface/CSS in my own way (hey call me crazy..) but what i’m wondering fine people is where should i start to strip down Wp1.5 to make such changes, i really liked the way WP 1.2 allowed me to take the elements i needed and discard the ones i did’nt without too much fuss, now it seems WP 1.5 has a different approach –

    so my question is – where in the 1.5 install does the WP loop “live” so i can extract it and put it to better use

    secondly – is there any negative implications in doing this, does the rely on anything specific that may cause problems in doing this..?

  • Observation: Since one can create a theme of their own, even one that duplicates whatever template structure they used in 1.2, I’m not sure why you need to nix it.

    Q 1: The Loop doesn’t “live” anywhere. It simply works wherever you place it.

    Q 2: All depends on what you are actually doing. But in most cases, the answer is no.
