Hi all, have used this plugin previously to help with issues with contact forms not working but seem to have hit a wall with regards to a site I’ve just taken over.

Contact form wasn’t working so went and installed the plugin, added all the usual details as I have previously and I’m not getting any test email through. Not even getting a sent or even any error messages, it’s as if when I click ‘send’ on the test email section it just refreshes the page and no test email arrives. I’ve been through everything, all settings are as I would normally put, turned on debug mode and there’s nothing, as in absolutely nothing showing in the logs other than ‘Easy WP SMTP debug log file’ and then nothing after.

Any advice would be grately appreciated as feel like banging my head against a wall right now.

  • Hi, have you been in contact with the host support staff? They might be able to share some light as to why emails are not been sent.

Let me know what they say.

    Thank you

You mean my hosting support? if so no, emails are working for the domain with no issues just not from the website.

The settings are set exactly the same as other websites I’ve created and host on my reseller hosting, only difference between the sites is that this new one is currently still on WordPress 5.4.4 (others are on 5.6.2 and 5.7) but as the plugin supports this version I haven’t considered it to be the problem.

Hi, another way to find out if it is our plugin causing the issue, can you try a different SMTP plugin from WordPress repository. Then report back with your findings.

    Kind regards

Yes certainly, will try this and report back, thanks for the advice.

Hi, have you found a solution to your problem?

    Thank you

Hiya, sorry about not updating. Haven’t actually had a chance to test the original site but ended up having the same issue with another client using the plugin and fixed it by trying a different smtp plugin, so looks like a plugin problem. I will hopefully get a chance to test this with the original site tomorrow and update this thread.

    Thanks,
    Mazz

Hiya, to confirm – I have tried this on the original site (using a different SMTP plugin) and it works so pointing to an issue somewhere along the line.

Hi, are you saying that a different SMTP plugin works for you but not ours? Which plugin worked for you if you don’t mind me asking?

    Thank you

Hey, yes sadly that is what I’m saying lol. This is the case with three sites now I’m afraid.

Setup a test site yesterday of the original site I was having the issue with, updated to the newest version of WordPress and it still didn’t work, so it’s not the WordPress version causing the issue.

I was planning to do some further testing so will update with my findings.

The one I used was WP mail SMTP by WPForms.

    Hi,

I was planning to do some further testing so will update with my findings.

Thank you for doing more testing. I am also curious to know what the issue is.

    Kind regards
