No Tax being sent to Paypal using WooCommerce PayPal Pro Hosted

    Hi, we’re using the plugin WooCommerce PayPal Pro Hosted to process paypal ‘webiste payments’, as well as WooCommerce Gateway PayPal Express Checkout for ‘express checkout’ payments.

    When generating reports in paypal, the tax is 0 in the VAT column for all website payments, whereas express checkout payments contains the correct tax amount. All other information is correct, just not the tax. We are wondering what exactly could be causing this issue and if anyone else has experienced this.

    When generating reports in paypal, the tax is 0 in the VAT column for all website payments, whereas express checkout payments contains the correct tax amount.

    I am assuming VAT is included when you view the WooCommerce internal reports via >> Analytics, correct? https://d.pr/i/ZwaHSB

    Do the orders in PayPal have the correct amount is the Tax missing from the amount in your PayPal account?

    Hi,

    Yes, VAT is in the reports all good, and the orders in Paypal all have the correct total order amount, it’s only the VAT that is at 0, so hard to see what’s causing the issue.

    Hey there!

    A couple things:

    This forum is for issues with the WooCommerce PayPal Express Checkout, and you’re referring to PayPal Pro Hosted (which is supported on WooCommerce.com).

    The PayPal Pro hosted plugin will not send itemized amounts to PayPal including tax amounts. It calculates all of that on WooCommerce, and then sends the total as a credit card charge to PayPal. It does not itemize it to send to PayPal.

    Only PayPal payments like PayPal Express Checkout and PayPal Standard will include itemized amounts sent to PayPal.
