    1. I did a test subscription to a test email address and I went to verify and got the following:

    “No Subscriber Found”
when I clicked the verifying link.

    This makes no sense.

    2. When I did submit my email address the page opened to:

You have successfully subscribed to the newsletter. You’ll receive a confirmation email in few minutes. Please follow the link in it to confirm your subscription. If the email takes more than 15 minutes to appear in your mailbox, please check your spam folder.

This page did not revert back to the website and using the back button came up with “Document Expired.”

None of this will enhance use of a newsletter subscription, only lose potential followers.

The first error is probably due to a failed installation of Newsletter, try to force an upgrade on diagnostic panel, or reinstall.

To have the messages shown inside a blog page setup a special page for newsletter, see the documentation on the site and the option on subscription configuration panel.

This doesn’t explain why after submitting an email the page tells you about the confirmation email but does not either return to the website, open in a new window or offer a link.

My installation did not fail the plugin failed.

OK, I connected a page entitled “Newsletter” and have that in the settings now.

When I test subscribe that page now returns with the message I typed on the page.

    1. When I confirm the subscription request via email a new window opens to the “Newsletter” page. This can seem redundant to the subscriber since they are seeing the page twice.

    2. I tested 8 email addresses and some were showing confirmed on my “subscriber” page yet the email confirm link was never clicked. Someone might change their mind yet remain on my subscriber list.

    3. For a couple of gmail addresses the confirm email was never received, and yes, I check the spam folder. I had to “resend” the confirmation and it worked. This needs to work the first time however.

    Thanks,

    Don
