I am testing this plugin on a fresh WP 6.4.3 install. I have uploaded a WebP and a JPEG image and inserted these images through the image block into a post.

As expected, the JPEG image is replaced by its WebP version. However, the figure tag contains only one image size. The image that was uploaded as an WebP on the other hand has a srcset with various image sizes in its figure tag.

Why is there a difference in the HTML code generated?

@martinsauter Thanks for reaching out. Could I please ask you which exact block you used when testing this? Once you have shared this I can perform some tests on my side and get back to you as soon as possible with my findings.

@adamdunnage I used the standard image block.

@martinsauter Thanks for sharing. If possible, could I ask you to share a recording of this on your site? You can use a service such as Loom to capture and share the video URL here.

In the meantime I will perform some tests of my own with this.

@adamdunnage Looks like this was a false alarm: When I try the same thing on a local install with the most recents versions of all components, everything looks fine.
