• Hello there,
Rushing out of the door because of a family disaster I copied the contents of the www directory (using a WAMP localhost installation), but neglected to export or backup the sql database…

    Super dumb mistake.

Is there anything that can be done, or am I destined to start everything again (no chance to go back and grab the sql database etc several thousand miles away).

Thanks a lot for any help that could save hours of rework!

  • So did you actually delete/drop the database or it’s tables?

If “yes”, then you’ll need a backup. if you don’t have backup, the wrost has happened and it’s all gone.

If “no” then the database will still be there somewhere. Some versions of WAMP let you choose which MySQL version that you want to use, and that separates databases by the version that it’s created under, so it might be still there under a different version. If not it should still be *womewhere* in your system. You should be able to see if using phpMyAdmin which is built into WAMP.
