No Split Order possible: Sendcloud not scalable
-
Hi,
We really like to use Sendcloud, but the problem as you know is that one cannot split orders with this plugin, i.e. you can neither split them after they are sent to Sendcloud in the Sendcloud account nor can Sendcloud work with a common feature/class called “package”: https://docs.woocommerce.com/wc-apidocs/class-WC_Shipping.html
As far as we know, however, the Sendcloud API apart from this plugin is actually able to transfer only partial orders, i.e. to split the order before it is sent to Sendcloud (along what line we do not know). Right now, pretty much all WP plugins can only split orders after they are received by the shop (backend) and Sendcloud, which is then in vain.
Hence, nobody can actually scale on this Sendcloud architecture, because simply we cannot send partial shipments, e.g. parcels, via fulfillment center, via different warehouses, via different shipping providers not included in Sendcloud, via freight forwarders. It is not possible to scale efficiently on Sendcloud, except one can handle all international shipments by packing/shipping by themselves. In other words, Sendcloud’s current architecture leaves the shop owner no choice than to use Sendcloud only or not at all, i.e. packaging all the way by themselves without using different methods. That is not very customer friendly architecture, rather a way to build dependency.
So can you update this Plugin’s APi so that either the order is split before it is sent to Sendcloud, reasonably according to packages (“Shipping , “Shipping 1, “Shipping 2”, etc.) or let customers adjust the order accordingly in the Sendcloud account?
Many Thanks.
