• Dear Alexander,

Thank you for a great theme!.

I am just missing one thing, and am grateful for any help with this:
In your theme preview there are social follow icons above the left sidebar. I have installed what I think is the “full version” but I can not get these to show up. I hope I do not need to start editing code somewhere for this to work! Also is there a way to change the titles on the sidebars?

    Thanks in advance,

    Winfried.

  • Hi Winfried,
Alx is absent for a week or so as I see – not trying to replace him:) but willing to help.

Ver. 2.15 actual at the moment.
Social icons- “Appearance”->Theme Options->Social Links, just “add new”, place URL and save.

    Dear Mike,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

I have done some homweork, I can the icons for social media to appear – so fa- is no problem.
But here is where I am stuck: It seems that adding the right URL code is more complicated. Simply putting a link to my respective profiles does nothing more than work like a conventional link. I expected these fa-icons/buttons should behave in the same way as a facebook or twitter follow button. Generally it appears that this requires a java applet…

(The link to Ver.2.15 download does not seem to work – I get a completely blank page!)

Although I love the look of the template, having headings that are confusing and not easily editable (I’d rather “follow” worked, I don’t actually want to change the heading as it looks great!) unfortunately is a show-stopper and for now I am using another template. I do however hope that we can get this working soon so I can switch back. It is a great looking template!

Thanks again, have a great day,

    Winfried.

    Hi Winfried,
“FOLLOW” fa-icons works as they are made – just a simple link.
For additional functionality (like FB share etc.) use some of plugins
(some “google-ing” or search on WP plugins page – you will find a whole bunch). If you look at my website in hueman modified theme (you can find it in my posts on this forum, don’t want to make too much propaganda), used also plugin for FB share icon.
Link – surprised too – not working, it’s download from Alex’s page https://alxmedia.se/themes/hueman/ – seems like Alex is on vacation and something is blocked. Only “lite” version from official WP page does not support fa-icons, if you have previous “full” 2.14 Ver. it’s OK too.
If you stay with another theme – you are missing a lot of fun – Hueman theme is great, like premium theme given for free + good support (no, I’m not paid for advertising, doing support for fun ??

Anyway – good luck and pls mark this [resolved], since you opened the thread.

    Thanks Mark,

I must have the right version – I have managed to get the icons to work just as a link to my respective pages in a separate window. It is not what I had hoped for but I have gone back to this theme as it looks definitely better than the alternatives. I can live withthis technicality for now and sort this out later ??

Thanks again for your quick help! Have a great day.

    Winfried.

    You’re Welcome,
my advice (not paid one:) – stick to Hueman theme- you can modify anything you like (with some CSS + minor PhP knowledge)- support forum has at the moment 69 pages X 30 posts – great support.
I suppose Alex’s download link will be available soon.
That icon behavior is default – opens in new window or in the same one.
    Cheers,
    Mike
