no singlepics or album thumbnails after update to 2.0.66.27

  • hello!

    this is the second time, updating this plugin screws up almost all of my blog sites. after the last update, when nothing worked any longer i manually downgraded to 1.9.something as described here – now i decided to give it another try – and? fucked up again!

    here are the current issues:

    images embedded in blog entries using the [singlepic…] tag will not be shown any longer – clicking on the broken link tho will then show the image… but yet, some of the links point to the wrong images. this worked before!

    here is an example

    furthermore albums dont show the thumbnails for the nested albums or galleries – klicking the broken links then again will work and eventually you get to the galleries, where everything is ok…

    so, my guess ist, that at this point the coding for albums and single images in blog articles is corrupted… this btw. could be reproduced on as well while using chrome, firefox and IE as also using a different internet connection.

    a pity! even more so, as i thought, since i am doing a lot of photography stuff rsp. immage handling in my blogs, it’d be rather fair to switch to the pro version. but honestly: i am not willing to pay for this, if it’s unreliable as it currently seems to be ??

    anyways – any hints on fixing this would be appreciated… i’ll be doing this **** downgrade again… *sigh*

    @herr R aus B – A couple of things come to mind … web hosting service (change your Permalinks structure); and, you most likely need our Attach-to-Post patch file as something is changing the placeholder <img> we write and causing things to break (the patch fixes most of these issues).

    Well – I downgraded to 1.9.13 and after setting up all albums again, it works – at least somehow. to be honest – i dont wanna go through all this again when upgrading… und then installing patches… i mean: i am a user, not an administrator – eventho i am capable of this, butn in this case i have different priorities. its just a matter of “would i wanna pay for the pro version” – and as long as it is like this: NO… what are you gonna tell the paying users? install this patch, install that patch, maybe its a web hosting problem, or a problem with permalink structures? think! if everything works until that paricular version and then a lot of issues occur after upgrading to the next version – where would most likely be the problem?
