Hi, I’m using the Twenty Twenty-Four theme, and I can’t get the “Shop” page to use the template with the sidebar. When I use the “quick edit” on the page and change the template there, the change doesn’t get saved. I tried to find the template file in the plugins/Woocommerce/templates folder, but I’m not sure which one is right and how to modify it for a block theme. I’m comfortable editing classic themes, but I’m new to block themes. How do I get the sidebar?

    Hi @amillionmiles

Thank you for reaching out — we’re happy to help!

No sidebar and can’t change template

From what I gather, you need a Shop page with a sidebar, created with the Twenty Twenty-four theme. Correct?

Feel free to start by editing one of the available templates, with sidebar in their name (as exemplified in the screenshot linked here), then add the Products (beta) block (as showcased here), for example, and finally go ahead with creating a new page for applying the resulting custom template to it (as exemplified here).

Note: these customizations are theme-related, therefore, best inquire about them at the dedicated theme support channels available.

Take a look at the documentation linked here.

I hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions about this matter, or if we misinterpret your concern in any way. We will be happy to help you further.

Hi, thank you. Yes, that is correct. I created a new shop page with a sidebar, but if I assign this page as the main shop page in the WooCommerce settings, the sidebar disappears again. Should I just not make it the official shop page?

    Hi @amillionmiles

When you use a block-based theme, WooCommerce uses the Product Catalog template as the archive page template by default. So, instead of using a new page template, I recommend that you customize this existing template to include a sidebar.

I hope this helps! Please let us know how it goes or if you need further assistance.

We’ve not heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved. Hopefully, you were able to find a solution to your problem! If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.
