• Hi,

I am currently setting a golf site on WordPress, and have a few problems with the search funcion.

I recently altered the index page so that it doesn’t show posts anymore, and display my categories instead (I did this manually). But my template doesn’t have a search.php page, the search function used to return the results through the index.php page. Now every time I perform a search, I get directed to the index page.

I tried to create a search.php page, but I was still directed to the index page.

Also, I have just installed the Advanced Search plugin hoping that it would work differently, but the same happens (I guess it uses wordpress search engine or something?).

    Thank you for your help.

    PS: My site is ProGolfClubs.info

Please, I didn’t solve my problem yet and I don’t think it’s a big deal. Thanks for having a look !

I’d recommend looking at the code in the default theme’s search.php and
searchform.php to see what your theme is missing.

Thank you for your advice, but unfortunately my theme doesn’t have any search.php and searchform.php page. When performing searches, results used to be returned through the index.php page.

Now that I have customized it with static content, all searches (through plugins or not) send me to the index page.

    Thank you for your help.
