    Hiho,

I need a special feed for email service (NOT MailChimp, other tool). I think your plugin would be the perfect solution for this.

So I have installed send-images-rss and activated “Create a custom feed and use that for sending emails”.
Only the given URL is not found.

Also we redirect the standard WP RSS feeds to feedburner which works fine. But there are still no images in this feeds. This is a pity, because wouldn’t it be nice to show the pictures to our subscribers…?!

And at last a question: When choosing the image size I can choose from three sizes – but none of these is one of the image sizes, I have defined in the theme’s function. So does send-images-rss create additional images sizes for wordpress or where do these image sizes come from? We already have five images sizes and I would rather not have another three images created when uploading images…?

Thanks you very much for your help!

    Best regards

When you create an alternate feed, you may get a 404 error until you resave your permalinks (see the FAQ). Once you’ve updated your permalinks, the URL for the new feed should be fine.

The plugin is set up to offer the choice of one of the default WordPress image sizes (thumbnail and medium), or the custom image size defined on the settings page. You can change the custom image size (the “RSS/Email Image Width” setting). At this time, there isn’t a filter to add in any of your theme custom image sizes, but that’s a feature request I can certainly consider adding. But yes, one additional image will be generated based on the plugin custom image.

    Hope that helps–

Thank you for you lightning fast answer! WOW!

I re-saved the permalinks and – whoops – here ist the stream! Great. Only it gets redirected to feedburner, so I will have to look into the redirections. Ok.

I also set the image width to a size, we already have. Thanks for this hint.
Does this apply to the featured images, too? I am not sure, as there is this other option for featured images directly under the custom image size option…

Now for the last thing: I still can’t see any image in the feed: https://www.shopanbieter.de/feed/email

    Any idea?

Yes, having the feeds redirect to Feedburner makes it very difficult to try to troubleshoot. A couple of things to check:

    • What image size have you selected in the plugin setting?
    • On your posts, have you explicitly set a featured image? If not, are the images used in the post “attached” to the post? Were they uploaded to the site as part of editing the specific post, or more generally through the media library? I ask because the featured image on the newest post is different than what is showing as the OpenGraph featured image. To display an image in the feed, the plugin requires that the post featured image be set, or that there is at least one image “attached” to the post.

It is also possible that Feedburner is manipulating the feed output as part of its process. If you can confirm the image settings, and remove Feedburner from the equation so that we can access the raw feed, it will be easier to troubleshoot what is going on. Thanks–

    Hi Robin,

I now had time to deactivate the feedburner-redirect and voila! There are the pics!

Thanks so much for your great – and fast as lightning! – help.

    Best regards
