Hi,
Thank you for sharing information!
The issue is about the Payment method getting as a “Referral” for all the transactions so it is not attributed to the campaigns ( in your case it’s secure2.authorize.net).
Reason :
We would like you to learn that Google Analytics starts a new session whenever a user comes to the site from a traffic source different than the previous one (and when it’s not a direct visit), even if the previous session hasn’t expired.
While you send users to the payment gateway one way or another and then they’re sent back to your store after a successful transaction. When the user arrives at the site from the gateway the HTTP headers contain referrer information saying that the visitor is coming from another hostname, in your case: secure2.authorize.net
So Google Analytics will automatically set “Source/Medium” as “secure2.authorize.net / referral” (screenshot) & so it will not be attributed to the original campaign
Solution :
To stop getting the Payment domain to be attributed as the “Source”, you need to include it in the Referral Exclusion list.
Click here to see how to do Payment Gateway Referral Exclusions.
We request you to apply this; analyze the data for next couple of days & get back to us if you find the issue.
Hope this addresses your concern!
Thanks & Regards!
