    Hi,

I have translated forms from English to Dutch using WPML translator.
I have the page translated where the form is embeded also with WPML translator. The id of the form is preserved/the same on both languages.
All entered date in the original language english is saved.
The data entered through the dutch form is partly saved.

Maybe the source of error is the selectbox. 1st question is “yes/no” which translates in “Ja/nee” the form works well in Dutch showing the conditional fields, but the conditional fields are not saved !

    Who experienced similar problem?

    thanks

  • Hello @stijnetje,

Thanks for writing in and we’re sorry to hear about the trouble you’re facing.

Would you mind providing more details about the Dutch translations being partly saved of the steps on how we can reproduce the issue so that we can check it?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Found meanwhile the solution: WPForms uses the labels as the values if no value is provided, which creates problems for questions using as condition a selectbox with labels. => strangly, the forms worked without any problem, questions are shown depending on the condition in any language. But when submitting the form, the questions with conditions are not saved.

Solution: “WPForms uses the labels as the values if no value is provided. They require a snippet to be added to functions.php before you can set values for each label:”
    This works: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translated-wpforms-with-conditional-fields-not-working/

https://wpforms.com/developers/wpforms_fields_show_options_setting/ proposes to do this in wpforms/includes/class-frontend.php, but I did it in the functions.php where I found the setting to be set as false.

PS: on the WPML page: “Take note that we reached out to WP Forms about this issue already. It would be valuable to get a second opinion from their support team, about if this issue will be solved in a future update.” (Oct 24 2020)

    Hi @stijnetje,

We’re glad to hear you got it sorted and thanks for letting us know.

I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
