I recently updated to RC 3.0 (now 3.1) and am having a problem with the [restrict] shortcode.

Indeed, everything works fine when I restrict all posts or just a whole post by choosing a particular role (e.g. subscriber), but, when I try to use the [restrict] tag in a post to restrict only a part of an article, then the text between the shortcodes [restrict] and [/restrict] is systematically replaced by the sentence “This content is for subscribers only” even if the visitor of my site (for science students) has the subscriber role… Only me (administrator) can see what is restricted by [restrict][/restrict].

I tried [restrict userlevel=subscriber][/restrict] or [restrict userlevel=”subscriber”][/restrict] but it still doesn’t work.

I unblocked the situation by creating a client for some old subscribers in RC/Cients. Therefore, restrict userlevel=subscriber][/restrict] or restrict userlevel=author][/restrict] work. Is this normal? Do I need to create a client for each pre-existing subscriber? Because I already have a hundred students with an account on my wordpress site…

Thank you in advance for your answer.
    Have a nice day !

Hello! First of all, I apologize for being a bit slow to respond; we were dealing with being short-staffed and now we’re doing our best to catch up.

In case you’ve not solved this by now, I’d use this:

    [restrict message="Your Message Here"]Restricted content[/restrict]

This Knowledge Base article provides additional parameters: https://restrictcontentpro.com/knowledgebase/restrict/

Please let us know if you need additional assistance with this!
