no QA team here… take a look if you can

I’ve never really done a site review- so if I sound harsh, sorry…

I like the overall design, its professional but rather simple, the only thing I wasn’t thrilled about was how the theme changed when you went to click something under explore, but if that’s your theory, I guess you could say, then so be it. But I like it because it’s to the point and nothing fancy to make it into something that isn’t, if you get what I mean.

There’s only one hint I have to give… In your stylesheets, or under your paragraphs (I don’t know how you have it labeled in your stylesheet) it be nice if it was “justify” such as in your style you would say

p { text-align: justify }, it be be a bit more pro, and give it a cleaner look.

Hey Derison, thanks for the reply – we’re actually changing the entire site to the blog layout so that switch should change soon. I do hear you though, it’s a bit harsh when you cross over.

I think I enjoyed your response about simplicity the most! That’s exactly what we’re after as we aim for really functional, hard working site/layout design.

Great use of pictures in the posts, I want to try something similar one day.
The searchfield is borked for me with FF1.5/PC, maybe add some padding inside there and/or larger text?

Nice and clean, while still being “fun.” Loads fast, too, which is always good. ??

I also see the issue that Class mentioned, in Mac Firefox — the word “below” (in “Search the Big Dog Blog! Enter below”) is hidden behind the actual search box.

Also, as of this moment, the XHTML Validator is reporting 9 errors.

Re validation, it validates perfectly until I put any forms (ie search) on the page. It doesn’t seem to matter at all, under whatever tag, p, div, and it’s frustrating me. Any ideas?

Michael, the only suggestion I can think of is to look at how other WordPress themes or sites code up their search forms.

For example, my site (https://www.tanster.com) uses the Neat theme, and its search box validates fine. You can do a View Source on my page and see how it’s done.
