no publishing or saving possible after upgrade

  • hi all
    after an upgrade from 2.03 to 2.6 i found that i could no longer save or publish a post. But i could publish old drafts that i still had saved before the upgrade. I still can edit ancient posts without a problem. Also all the categories where blanco suddenly, but that doesn’t bother me as much.
    If i type a post and try to save or publish i find myself again at same page but without my text. No message, no error to be seen and my post nowhere to be found.
    Today i upgraded to 2.61 and the problem still persists. both upgrades were without any problems.
    please help.

    I think the problem is you made too big of a jump in WP versions. There are often database differences between WP versions, and 2.6 seems to assume certain database upgrades have already taken place. If it’s possible to put your site back to 2.03 (via a backup), I would recommend you do that. Once that’s done, you should upgrade incrementally until your site is running at least 2.3.
