I was in the middle of writing a new post in my blog. I went to upload a photo and it wouldn’t upload. I went to save the post and it said the post was unknown and couldn’t be saved. I went to the dashboard and it says:
You have , contained within 3 categories and 10 tags. You have 280 total comments, 278 approved, 1 spam and 1 awaiting moderation.

I’m logged in, but my User Online stats say there are 0 people logged in. When I log out and log back in, I’m taken to my home page which now reads, “Sorry, you are looking for something that isn’t here.”

What has happened? I didn’t upgrade anything, change anything, post anything, or upload anything (except the picture which didn’t even upload successfully). When I try to access the blog from another computer, I get the exact same thing, so it can’t be my browser or my computer.

Please help! I have 115 customers that use this blog on a daily basis. I can’t have it gone!

  • yes.

you cant break anything UNLESS you choose empty or drop, and you get a second chance if you do that. dont be afraid.

Ah! But, it’s back!!! You’re my hero! Can I enable my plugins again or leave them disabled?

you can enable them. you might want to look into what caused the problem in the first place. Maybe its the revisions and something in how yahoo has their mysql servers set up — since those revisions get written to the db. Just a thought.

perhaps look into the ‘disbale revisions’ plugin?

Thank you. I will! I’ll also start backing up my posts so, should I lose them, they won’t be gone forever!!

Same exact thing happened to me while writing a post — you are my hero now, too! The “repair” function worked on my database “wp_post” table which was stuck reading “in use” just as described above. Solution worked like a top, thanks!!
