No points logged for bbpress or geodirectory events

    Hi J.D.,

    I would love to use your plugin to log points for users adding content to my geodirectory and discussing on the bbpress forum. However, even though the posting of a (forum, answer etc. for bbpress) (entry for the geodirectory (plugin)) are events that I can add reactions to, none of these actually increase the points of the user when a posting is made.

    On the other hand, adding a regular wordpress post does increase the points as specified.

    Any ideas how to get that most important aspect (for me) to work?

    Hi @telebek, I’ve had reports of issues with custom post types not awarding points before, but I wasn’t given enough specifics then to be able to track down the issue. I’ll try to reproduce this issue with bbPress, and let you know what I find.

    I’ve just been able to reproduce this, so it does seem to be a problem in WordPoints and not a configuration issue or anything. I have a feeling that it is probably caused by how bbPress handles the statuses for its topics, replies, etc. I’ll do some more digging and let you know when I find the cause of the issue.

    I have discovered the cause of the problem, and it has to do with bbPress registering its custom post types with WordPress later in the code execution than WordPoints is expecting. Really though, WordPoints is at fault here, because usually custom post types are actually expected to be registered later. So I’ll be working on getting this fixed, and see if I can get WordPoints 2.2.2 out tomorrow. I’ll check that it will fix this for the Geodirectory content events as well.

    I’ve just released WordPoints 2.2.2, which should fix this issue for both bbPress and GeoDirectory, and any other plugins with custom post types that were suffering from a similar issue. Let me know if you have any further issues.
