• I am looking to take over the support of a self hosted WordPress website (Not at wordpress.com). I have been given an ID with admin access but do not have the Plugins, Widgets, or Editors tabs.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks Dan

  • It looks like your user account doesn’t have sufficient rights.

Perhaps ask the original owner for an account with administrator rights.

I would agree, but my account is setup with administrator rights (Users=Administrator)

Are you able to do any other administrative things? Add users, for example? Do you see the Appearance or Settings tabs at all?

I’ve seen situations where a user account was just named “administrator”, but didn’t really have WordPress administrator rights, so make sure that’s not the case here.

Yes, I was able to add a new administrator ID, but that ID also has the same issues.

My guess is there might be a plugin active that’s keeping you from doing actual administrator actions, but if you’re not able to see the plugins, then that would be a vicious circle… :-/
